Annett Wolf interviewed Jerry Lewis on the set of The Day the Clown Cried, in her documentary, “The World of Jerry Lewis”(1972). The documentary was shown at a festival in 2016, and is not yet available to the public. The interview she did seems to be around the time, Waschberger left The Day the Clown Cried production: "Heavy and delicate subject in itself, radical change of register for Lewis, this film reveals a catastrophe before the end of the shooting. Nathan Wachsberger, who has committed to produce it, apparently no longer has the rights of the original script from which it is inspired, does not pay the promised money, obliges Lewis, who makes a point of finishing it, to advance the fees, the negative ending under seal in Stockholm." "In Stockholm, on the set of The Day the Clown Cried, she gradually gains his trust; her images’ frame tightens along the way, until the moment where she records a devastating scene happening on the set. Then the filmmaker, worn out, completely vulnerable, grants her an interview in the middle of the night. "
