My favorite is Rock-a-bye Baby, and it's the one that turned me into a fan. It's still tied for my favorite movie of all time, and I've seen it many times. This film and The Geisha Boy showed Jerry's sweetness and pathos the best I think for his films. All of the musical numbers are cute, and beautifully sung by Jerry, and Connie in her scene as well. Dormi showed his range as a singer, and I always thought it's a shame that people don't think he can sing. Jerry's character Clayton Poole's scenes with the babies are precious, and the movie continues to be funny with every viewing. If I was to show a non-fan one movie to get into Jerry's films, it would be either this or The Geisha Boy.

My favorite movies are The Geisha Boy and The Nutty Professor. My parents are huge Jerry Lewis fans and they introduced me to his movies when I was 5 years old! In Italy kids in the 80's and 90's grew up watching his movies. The Geisha Boy was the first one that I watched because it was my mom's favorite! I loved the story...I think that as a kid I loved it especially because Jerry was a magician in the movie and kids love magic tricks! I loved the relationship between Jerry and the little boy. It was so sweet. It is still my favorite to this day and I still watch it at least twice a month I love Jerry's performance! The Nutty Professor was the most fascinating film that I watched as a child. The first time I watched it , I was 10 years old. I couldn't stop thinking about it for days after that! It was incredible! It was enchanting, captivating, extremely funny, and scary at the same time! I remember my shock as a child when I saw Jerry's arms growing so long when working out at the gym! It was scary the first time I saw it! Moreover, I couldn't believe that Prof. Kelp and Buddy Love were played by the same actor! I think that Jerry did an amazing job as a performer. He was immensely talented! He was able to play two different characters so incredibly well! He changed his face, mannerism, voice, attitude, and personality so perfectly and without the special effects they use today in movies. His performance was flawless and impeccable ! Plus I love those beautiful, bright colors in the movie ! He was an amazing director as well!

sorry, i cannot answer this question the way you’d like. JL, himself, went through several incarnations and so did his films. his M&L films had thier charms (the caddy), his early solo films (rock-a-bye-baye) and his self-directed films (nutty professor). and i feel his later films, after loss and with maturity, reflect less broad, more reflective performances (king of comedy). his early physicality, mid-life humor, late life intensity....i love each for different reasons.
