I was reading one of Oscar Levant's books and he mentioned that Jerry was a guest on his television show. The only episode of this show that is known to survive in its entirety is one with Fred Astaire as a guest. However, a search of the UCLA Film & Television Archive turned up a record of archived audio for the episode that Jerry was on. (May 28, 1958.) The only other info I have found so far regarding JL's appearance is a quote from a 1994 LA Times article: "On "The Oscar Levant Show," the blinking, shaking host was able to show his all-round intellectualism: Aldous Huxley talked up LSD, Christopher Isherwood reeled off Baudelaire and Jerry Lewis read "The Waste Land" in an effeminate voice." There was also a mention in the book of a guest appearance by Dean Martin, but it looks like that episode is lost.

Well that sounds like a wild show. Looks like only the audio exists though.

Yeah. And who knows if anyone will ever have access to listen to it. This was a new find for me. I keep wondering what else could exist (or what did exist and is now lost ) that we don't know about.

I'm reading another one of Oscar Levant's books and it has a photo from Jerry's appearance on the show.
