This is the thread for JL mentions in tv shows/movies/songs, parodies of him, homages to his work, or clear ripoffs "borrowing, that you have seen from comedians, filmmakers and actors.
I'll start with Seinfeld where they mention him twice: The Strongbox episode: Jerry Seinfeld has purchased cuff links worn by Jerry Lewis in Cinderfella. He plans to use them as a conversation starter with JL when he goes to an upcoming roast at the Friar's Club. The cufflinks get locked into Kramer's strongbox for safe keeping, which Kramer places the key in a neighbor's parrot's food bowl. The parrot eats the key, and Kramer and Jerry have to go search for the cufflinks after the parrot is buried in a pet cemetary on the night of the Friar's roast.
The Seinfeld episode The Soulmate also mentions Jerry: George Costanza believes the foundation lawyer thinks he might have killed girlfriend Susan. Jerry Seinfeld suggests using a method employed by Jerry Lewis to find out. Which entails leaving a running tape recorder in a suitcase and leaving the room with it behind, then coming back to see if people talked about him. George declares JL a genius.
I was watching a scene from the 1970 film I Walk the Line with Gregory Peck and Tuesday Weld. They are watching Hook, Line, and Sinker at the drive in movie since that is what the movie poster of JL's is. But then the movie they are watching is clearly not Hook, Line, and Sinker but the telephone booth scene from The Big Mouth (1967). I thought that was strange. Of course it makes sense for them to be watching Hook, Line, and Sinker since it came out while this was being filmed, but they were watching The Big Mouth. They were all made by Columbia, so it wasn't a rights issue. So maybe the filmmakers or somebody made a mistake, or didn't think that someone like me would care.... lol

I had that on my youtube channel before they took it down. That's weird they took it down. Someone else has put up the full episode on YouTube and that gets to stay there. YouTube is strange sometimes.

oh man there are so many that i have documented....
*on The Simpsons, Krusty and the ‘nutty professor’ Frink are clearly homages to JL and his influence. Even the Smithers/Burns relationship is right out of The Errand Boy.
*The Marvelous Mrs Maisel has a Jerry name drop each season
*on Better Things they are watching JL do the typewriter sketch from Colgate Comedy Hour.
*In The Comedians Billy Crystal and Josh Gad do a Jerry joke.
*In Baskets Zach Galifinakas makes mention of JL at a French clown school.
*The developers of SpongeBobSquarePants lists JL’s The Bellboy as an inspiration, specifically the chair scene in the ballroom.
*Paul Reubens as Pee Wee Herman...his suit and bowtie look, and his bicycle is straight out of Cinderfella, and his asides into the camera.
*Jim Carrey in Kidding uses several JL gags, the bird in the cage, the inside joke lettering of tv station call letters as from The Patsy, use of puppets as confidant from The Errand Boy.
* Andy Kaufman’s lip sync to a record player, a staple of his act was an homage to JL.
*In the film Earth Girls Are Easy, Jeff Goldblum says a Buddy Love line.
*In the film Grease, the kids are watching a Martin and Lewis film, Hollywood or Bust, at the drive in.
*the Umbrella Academey uses a dollhouse camera shot exactly like the dollhouse set of The Ladies Man.
*Martin Short said in an interview that his character Ed Grimley is directly from the ‘sweetness’ and naivete of JL’s characters.
*For me, much of The Joker, has many elements of JL’s performance as the troubled clown, and from The King of Comedy, which itself uses many legacy JL gags and lines.
*The Animaniacs cartoon show has several episodes of a JL character...doing the typewriter and acting the arrogant director.
*The Cohen brothers film Hail, Caesar borrows many JL scenes from The Errand Boy for their satire of Hollywood stuidos.

In "Back to the Future" when Marty first visit Doc Brown in 1955 they have this exchange:
Brown: Who's the president of the United States in 1985? Marty: Ronald Reagan. Brown: Ronald Reagan? The actor? Then who's vice president? Jerry Lewis?

I saw that episode the night it aired. Although I was familiar with Jim Carrey then, I didn't catch that he was among the Jerry impersonators.

JL is mentioned on That 70's Show season 5 episode 19, "Bring It On Home" where the character of Hyde tells his friend Donna that "It was like a telethon in there (the kitchen), the only thing missing was Jerry Lewis!" Makes sense in context with the episode. They also mention Dean Martin in season 6, and I believe season 8.
Martin and Lewis is mentioned on The Wonder Years season 5, episode 6, when characters Wayne and his girlfriend Sandy are discussing which comedy duos they like the best. Martin and Lewis are one of Wayne's favorites.
Great shoutouts from two of my favorite shows!

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air gives JL a shout out in season 1 episode 15 when Will Smith refers to his cousin Carlton as doing something Jerry Lewis like when he jumping around and making whoosh noises pretending he is skiing.

In the 2003 movie Coast to Coast with Richard Dreyfuss and Judy Davis, Richard Dreyfuss's character tells his friend to do a Jerry Lewis impression and then he comes out with the buck teeth and glasses and then mid impersonation drops dead. Then after he is taken away, Richard's character says I should have never made him do the Jerry Lewis. Then his wife played by Judy Davis says, "but he was dying to do it". Lol

The Nutty Professor got a mention on an episode of the TV show "ALF".
"Why do you keep comparing me to 'E.T.'? I'm nothing like 'E.T.'. You know, someday, Willie, someone from Melmac's going to ask me what you're like and I'm gonna say: 'Well, did you ever see 'The Nutty Professor'?"
