In this 1963 article, Patti Lewis talks about her and Jerry's relationship and its development, Jerry's fear of being alone and her pride of how he grew. She also recalls an incident with Gary similar to the one Jerry talked about on the Joan Rivers Show. The events sounds almost the same, although on the Joan Rivers Show, Jerry said it was because of bad grades and in this article, Patti said Gary was rude at the dinner table, so I'm not sure if this were two seperate occasions or not.

Thanks for sharing, an interesting read. I wonder why the article says Jerry was 17 when he and Patti met. In Aug. 1944 he was of course already 18.

Looks like Patti was the one saying that he was 17, so she probably just forgot or made a mistake. Also I enjoyed hearing that Jerry was stopping traffic by playing a saxophone from the balcony in his underwear in NY. Good times lol
