I am actually in contact with Michael Hayde, and am supplying him with photos for his book on M&L tv and radio appearances. He was able to listen to the radio episodes not in circulation (a few through transcript), and he saw the remaining Colgate episodes that M&L guest appeared on. I read this essay on the split awhile back, but didn't remember who had written it. Thanks for sharing again!

"although a few 1950's scandal sheets alleged the relationship veered into the forbidden zone" I have seen the scandal mag this is talking about, implying that they were in love basically. Of course even in Dean's FBI files, Dean and Jerry were supposedly outed by a known gay man in Hollywood, who said they were classified as gay by those in the know basically. That info might be false, but highly amusing that it was in Dean's FBI file either way.

Is this a new book that is coming out soon?

Wow, that's neat. Do you know where/how he was able to hear and see these episodes?

Yes I think he wants to release it this year. Also he went to LOC to listen/see the episodes.
