I'm not concerned about a lawsuit, but I do worry about multiple copyright strikes or her taking down any of my accounts that I've worked hard to put content up for the fans.

It's quite possible that Chris has control of the archives still. I don't think Sam and Danielle are the ones upset by footage online. Chris has been known to threaten people for posting photos and other things before, so not surprised he's using his daughter to go after people these days, since he isn't on social media publicly anymore.

I wonder where this goes. As probably discussed already, the Jerry Lewis estate might release something. It still doesn't explain why they want magazine articles from the 1950s to be removed.

Possibly, as Chris doesn't have social media accounts anymore. He probably lurks through his daughter's account. I still remember he and Anthony I think it was, lurking on the old forum.

Jerry's sons are morons: If they would work together and create a public brand of themselves, they could do a lot for their father's legacy while securing financial benefits for themselves.
All this subterfuge and shenanigans is resulting in nothing more than a huge missed opportunity.

When Jerry died, several big newspapers shamed him for not leaving anything to his sons. Tons of articles about "Jerry's dark side" surfaced.
When you search his name on YouTube, some of the top searches and most viewed are the ones when Anthony speaks out and also the one with his biological daughter. The comment sections were filled with frustration calling out Jerry for being a jerk. Appearently, there was also one time when Gary had supposedly called him evil.
I was overwhelmed by all of it and I didn’t know what to think anymore. His sons said they were never cared for or got any love from their father, and the thought of it made me upset. I would never have supported such behavior, but after also hearing about the lawsuits and questionable behavior from the sons, the whole situation is definitely more than one-sided.

Because of ClassicKat's insight, I can now see why Jerry made the decision. I still have issues with it, but I can understand a lot better now.

And did it had anything to do with how they claimed were treated as children? I told Kat a few weeks ago that I wanted to make a Jerry Lewis fansite with a gallery of photos from his movies and life but was not sure if there'd be a problem with that. |

just to clarify my experience with Chris’ daughter asking me to take down material from instagram and tumblr: it seems the entirety of what they wanted removed had to do with Gar-Ron Productions, JL’s home movies shot in the early to mid 50’s that often starred Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh, Dean and others. The photos from magazine articles are also reporting on these same home movies. Apparently the estate holds the copyright (or they say the do?) to these home films, or perhaps there were no releases signed by Curtis, Leigh and their estates want them removed?? Maybe Chris Lewis and the estate plan to release these home films at some point? They were shown at MoMA a few years ago. I did remove them from instagram but you can still find some on tumblr. however i did change my #tags for them from #gar ron productions to #playhouse productions for anyone interested.
As for accounts of JL being a neglectful father and ‘evil’ or whatever....all i can say is many fathers were not ‘hands-on’ in the 50’s and 60’s. clearly JL was a driven, busy, ambitious man who worked long hours. i’m sure he was absent from home a lot and preoccupied when he was. later, being addicted to painkillers must’ve been devastating for him and his personal life. i’m sure his sons were affected by that, but also the tilt of wealth. they got into drugs, gary had ptsd from vietnam. they were no angels either. (this is just my opinion, i don’t know any of the family)

Some stuff I've said in the discussion videos with Audi and Thad. I would say Scott and Ronnie were the only kids that didn't commit felonies.... So there's that. The Lewis kids certainly have issues, but I don't much of the bad stuff they did they could attribute to Jerry or Patti's parenting. Drug abuse would probably be the exception. But that's not the bad stuff I'm talking about. Stealing money, possessions from both Jerry and Patti, possible rape/assault, sibling molestation, robbery, is what I'm talking about with 4 of 6 sons. In our recent video, I discuss what things Gary did. Since that was public knowledge in print, I decided to discuss that. For anything Anthony and Chris related I have to talk about privately. |
