Soon after Jerry's passing, his on-again-off-again representative Rick Saphire announced plans to publish a bio of Jerry. Then nothing more was heard of it. But it seems that now that Patti has passed, he has resurrected his plans: "I will be writing much about Patti with love in my upcoming book, The REAL Jerry Lewis Story." ricksaphire.com/
Same with Rick Lertzman: always "upcoming", but never a firm date when the book will actually appear.
Richard Belzer was also going to write a book about Jerry, Conversations with Jerry Lewis. He even talked about it once on Gilbert Gottfried's podcast. That has completely dropped off the radar. You can look at what was supposed to be the book on Amazon, but it was never available.

I think it should be taken with a grain of salt until there's an official date of release. It takes time to write a book, but there just seems to be a lot of uncertainty going on.
Lertzman wrote on his website on the day of Patti's 98th birthday, saying his book would come soon and that it had five years in the making. He also made a post earlier this week in a public Facebook group about Patti's passing. That's weird concidering his hatred for Jerry and people in the comments were not pleased.

In his blog, Lertzman now says his book will come out next Christmas. I would not bet on that. He previously stated it was supposed to be this summer.

Is he still in a JL group? I blocked him from any ones I administrate.

I can't find his post, so I it seems it has been deleted after the many complaints. He still remains as a member though.

Update on Rick Saphire's book: he states on his FB page that the book will debut on Nov. 1, 2021. It will be available worldwide in softcover and electronic versions and there will also be a special hardcover, numbered and autographed version, only 100 copies, appearing before Nov. 1.

Another update on Rick Saphire's book: According to his FB page, the book will now appear in Feb. 2022 instead of Nov. 2021. This is starting to sound like Rick Lertzman's repeated postponements of his book. I hope it does not end in similar fashion (Rick Lertzman died before his book could be published).
As a sample of what's to come in the book, Rick Saphire relates the story of how Jerry, as a child in 1937, and his mother Rae went to Lakehurst, NJ to watch the arrival of the Hindenburg zeppelin, and wound up witnessing the horrifying crash. I have never before heard/read this story. Has anyone else ever heard that Jerry witnessed this event?

If it happened, wouldn't he have mentioned that at least somewhere?

Interesting, no I haven't. You would think it would be mentioned somewhere.

Update on Rick Saphire's book: Mr. Saphire says it will appear on Labor Day Weekend 2022. And more interesting - Gary Lewis is writing the foreword! So if Gary Lewis is lending his name to Mr. Saphire's book, I would expect the book to be rather truthful about Jerry. (Maybe that is just wishful thinking or naivete on my part.)

Update on Rick Saphire's book on Jerry: first it was supposed to appear last Nov., then in Feb. 2022, then over the Labor Day weekend 2022 (which is fast approaching), and now, according to Mr. Saphire (I asked him outright), the book will be announced over Labor Day weekend and will appear on Nov. 25. I assume he meant 2022, but I wouldn't bet on it. He said he is still writing and interviewing people.

And the dates keep moving and moving....
Thanks for the updates, I'm assuming I'm blocked, since I called him a thief in one of the comments on his posts by one of my fb profiles. lol Sorry not sorry.... He was fired by JL for being a thief, so there you go.
