The Day Dean Martin Cursed Jerry Lewis article, 1967. Fact: This call did not break them up no matter what this article, or Dean supposedly said years later. They were feuding of course in ‘55, but then slightly made up. They still were talking about continuing their partnership in early June ‘56, even though they were talking and not talking on and off. Then in a matter of a couple of weeks, The Damon and Pythias/The Delicate Delinquent issue happened, and that was the final straw. Also what Jerry saying that this phone call came during 3 Ring Circus in May 1955 is inaccurate. They made that movie an entire year earlier. Perhaps it was 1955, but that would coincide with the whole You’re Never Too Young debacle, and that would make sense why Dean didn’t go, in addition to going to Hawaii on vacation.
